Winners of the 2013 Bram Stoker Awards Announced

The Horror Writers Association has announced the winners of the 2013 Bram Stoker Awards. Stephen King won the Best Novel award for Doctor Sleep. Doctor Sleep is a sequel to King's bestseller, The Shining.
The Best First Novel award went to Rena Mason for The Evolutionist. R.L. Stine and Stephen Jones each won Lifetime Achievement Awards. The winners were announced at the HWA's annual awards banquet, which was held at the 2014 World Horror Convention in Portland, Oregon.

- Superior Achievement in Short Fiction: David Gerrold, "Night Train To Paris" (The Magazine Of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Jan./Feb. 2013)
- Superior Achievement in Screenplay: Glen Mazzara, The Walking Dead: "Welcome To The Tombs" (AMC)
- Superior Achievement in Anthology: Eric J. Guignard (Ed.), After Death... (Dark Moon Books)
- Superior Achievement in Fiction Collection: Laird Barron, The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All And Other Stories (Night Shade Books)
- Superior Achievement in Nonfiction: William F. Nolan, Nolan On Bradbury: Sixty Years Of Writing About The Master Of Science Fiction (Hippocampus Press)
