Writing the Concession Speech

Now that Senator Kerry has called President Bush to concede the presidential race, he has one last task in this campaign: to give a concession speech to his crushed followers. According to the Wall Street Journal, longtime Kerry friend and political strategist Bob Shrum will write the speech which Kerry will deliver at 1:00 pm today. President Bush will give his victory speech after Senator Kerry has had a chance to speak. With the electorate still very divided on issues ranging from stem cell research to Iraq to the deficit to abortion, political pundits will be closely watching President Bush's speech for clues as to how he will govern in the next four years. Will he take the win as a mandate or will he attempt to bridge the gap with Democrats? The clue will be in the victory speech -- ahh, the power of words....
