Ziff-Davis and Seybold Publications Announce the Vision Awards
Posted on August 7, 1998
Ziff-Davis and Seybold Publications announced they will be honoring the innovators and technologies that have profoundly impacted the publishing industry with a new awards program, the Seybold Publications Vision Awards. These new awards recognize people and technologies that demonstrate a clear vision or direction in which the publishing industry should move.
The awards are given in three categories: Web/Internet, Print and Media-Independent. Winners are selected by the Seybold Publications editorial staff based on their ability to impact the industry by either pioneering a new market, creating a new category of product/technology, or actualizing a new product that will change the industry forever. To qualify, a product must have been announced sometime between September 1997 and September 1998.
"We are very pleased to announce the Seybold Publications Vision Awards," said Maggie Canon, vice president of Content, Seybold Seminars. "Focusing on three categories, the Seybold Vision Awards honor the technological brilliance and breakthroughs that have created the most important innovations in the industry in the past year. The editors at Seybold Publications are uniquely qualified to recognize which innovations are truly the most significant because collectively they represent more than 100 years of analyzing and reporting on the publishing industry."
The winners will be announced at a reception on Monday, August 31, 1998, on the eve of Seybold San Francisco/Publishing 98. During this reception, the Digital Media Awards, presented by eMediaweekly and recognizing outstanding digital media products and technologies, will also be awarded.
