Ziff Davis to Launch Baseline Magazine

Ziff Davis Media Inc. announced that it is launching a new publication providing senior-level IT and corporate executives with information about how to cost, deploy and manage IT solutions. The 150,000-controlled circulation publication is entitled Baseline. The tagline is ``The Bottom Line in IT.'' Baseline's premier issue will be October 2001. It will publish monthly through February 2002 and then go to an every-other-week format in March 2002.
Baseline is part of Ziff Davis Media's products serving the executive and senior IT marketplace. Eweek provides news, analysis and product testing about ebusiness enterprise, and CIO Insight is a new monthly publication for IT executives that provides strategic analysis and research. Ziff Davis Media also delivers coverage of this market segment with its titles PC Magazine, Interactive Week and Smart Partner.
The Editor-in-Chief of Baseline is Tom Steinert-Threlkeld. He held the position of editor-in-chief of Interactive Week, from 1995 to 2000. He also has been a technology journalist for the Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Other members of Baseline's editorial team include Editor Robert Hertzberg, Managing Editor Anna Maria Virzi, and Senior Writers Debbie Gage and Mary Jo Foley. Leading the publishing team are technology-publishing veterans Senior Vice President Sloan Seymour, Vice President Stephen Veith and Business Development Director Gary Bolles. These executives will lead Associate Publishers Karl Elken, Matt Sweeney and Bruce Kidd, and a team of experienced sales professionals.
