Ziff Davis to Launch ExtremeTech in October

Ziff Davis Media Inc. has announced the launch of the ExtremeTech magazine series. The first issue will debut on newsstands in October. ExtremeTech magazine is a brand extension of extremetech.com, a technology resource. The editorial coverage will provide knowledge on how to design and upgrade PCs and related technology systems, networking, security and videogames.
"ExtremeTech has been one of the fastest growing online technology sites, reaching over seven million page views per month," said Tim Castelli, Senior Vice President, PC Magazine Group. "By launching a magazine version we're providing the same quality content in print, enabling advertisers to reach a broader audience of technology enthusiasts.
The first edition of ExtremeTech will launch with 150,000 copies and will be featured solely on the newsstand. The issue, which will go on sale with a cover price of $7.99, will include a CD-Rom with extra editorial coverage.
ExtremeTech editorial features in the launch issue will include:

- Do-it-yourself Boot Camp -- tips and tools to easily and safely install a motherboard, memory, CPU and heatsink

- Bonus Feature -- the ultimate guide to buying an HDTV. The guide and analysis is derived from PC Magazine's and Ziff Davis Internet's new HDTV lab.
